1. Favorite children’s book?
“Oh The Places You’ll Go” is the top of my list

2. Strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Probably “cuy” when I was in Peru.  For those that don’t know, cuy is roasted guinea pig on a spit.  The #2 I’d have to say “anticuchos”: roasted cow heart.  you pick which is stranger.

3. Cats or dogs?
Dogs, definitely.  Unless it’s a purse-sized dog compared to a pet tiger.

4. Dream car?
1967 Ford Shelby GT 500, can’t beat American muscle

5. Peeps or Cadbury Cream Eggs?
Cadbury Cream Eggs, the chocolate balances out the cream quite nicely.

6. Do you know your S.U. mailbox buddy?
I do, we were friends before we knew that we were SU buddies so it was funny seeing her mail mixed in with mine.

7. You’re from Jersey. Thoughts on The Jersey Shore?
It’s so entertaining but makes Jersey look like a haven for the promiscuous and self-tanned…. I liked when that was a secret.

8. On-campus activity/class you enjoy most?
Varsity Lacrosse is definitely something I love. As far as classes go, I love my art courses and my Chem classes; both necessitate creativity and thoughtfulness.

9. Roller blades or Razor scooter?
Razor Scooter, absolutely.  I never mastered the art of stopping on roller blades.

10. What are you looking forward to most this spring?
2 things. First: Winning the NESCAC championship in lacrosse, and second: Ivies.

Joanna Buffum is a senior English major and Anthropology minor at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  She is from Morristown, NJ and in the summer of 2009 she was an advertising intern for OK! Magazine and the editorial blog intern for Zagat Survey in New York City. This past summer she was an editorial intern for MTV World's music website called MTV Iggy, writing fun things like album and concert reviews for bands you have never heard of before. Her favorite books are basically anything involving fantasy fiction, especially the Harry Potter series and “Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell” by Susanna Clarke. In her free time she enjoys snowboarding, playing intramural field hockey, watching House MD, and making paninis. In the spring of 2010 she studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, and she misses the friendly, tall, and unusually attractive Danish people more than she can say. After college, she plans on pursuing a career in writing, but it can be anywhere from television script writing, to magazine journalism, to book publishing.
