It All Feels Like It Was Yesterday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

I still remember sitting outside of McCormick before my first class freshman year with someone I met through Facebook that was also a freshman and starting their college career, too.  It was scary and exciting and I remember feeling like I would be here forever.  Months went by and my first semester was over, then the first year and before I knew it people who I had met as a little freshman were leaving.  People that I looked up to, people that I had some of my best memories with, people that meant so much to me they were just gone.  It was their time to graduate and while they were so excited to leave and move on with life, I bawled my eyes out the day we said our “see ya laters”.

I never thought my time to walk across that stage would come, but here it is.

I remember the first time I walked off the bus and the “see ya” guy said his first “see ya” to me.  I remember the first time I ate at commons.

I remember my first all-nighter for an exam that was for a stupid General Education class.

I remember my first college party.

I remember by first college hangover (lol).

It all seems like it was yesterday, but here I am getting ready to say goodbye.

As I walk around campus now I often just stop and look.  I smile to myself knowing that I have such a special place to hold close to my heart.  Even on the rainiest Bloomsburg day this place is still beautiful to me.  I know that years down the road I may visit this sleepy old town and while it may not look the same, it will still hold the same memories to me.  It is incredibly sad to think my time here is almost over but I can’t thank this town enough for all it has given me.

I am a 23 year old senior at Bloomsburg University. I am a Mass Communications major on the telecommunications track and with a concentration in Public Relations.
