The 10 Artists We Want to See at Spring Day 2016

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

1.     Fetty Wap

Best known for his hit single “Trap Queen” and other popular singles such as “679” and “My Way”, Fetty Wap has already visited many college campuses to date, so he could be a great choice for the Spring Day artist this April.

2.     The Weekend

His singles that have been released recently include, “Earned It” from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, and other number-one singles such as “The Hills” and “Can’t Feel My Face”. All at once, these songs held the top three spots on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart which made him the first artist in history to achieve such an accomplishment. Currently on one of his infamous fall tours, Abel Tesfaye would likely be free in the spring (we hope) and in our opinion – a great choice for Spring Day.

3.     Jake Miller

Jake Miller started on YouTube a few years ago, he has since come out with 2 EP’s, a full album, and many singles. With his pop/rap sound, he would likely satisfy many students’ wants for a Spring Day artist. Although he may not be well-known by many, he has the pop and rap sound that many students enjoy.

4.     Kendrick Lamar

With his most well-known album released in October 2012 he soon rode the charts and became known by many. The record contained his most popular singles, “Swimming Pools (Drank)”, “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” and “Poetic Justice”. With his most recent work, being featured on Taylor Swift’s single, “Bad Blood”, his fame continues to rise and we’re confident Bentley kids would love it.

5.     Sammy Adams

Born in Cambridge and raised in Wayland, Sammy Adams is from around the same area as Bentley. Adams is notoriously a great performer and definitely knows how to get the audience going. With songs, “Driving Me Crazy”, “All Night Longer”, and other popular hits, he would definitely put on a good performance especially being able to relate to the Boston in all of us.

6.     Chance the Rapper

Chance the Rapper gained major recognition following the release of his second mixtape Acid Rap in 2013. Since then he’s been attending music festivals all over the world, been on tour, and was featured in many popular artists’ songs including Justin Bieber’s “Confident”. Being a remarkable rapper and performer, he would be a fun choice for the concert in the spring.

7.     Zedd

Musician, music producer, and DJ, Zedd is well known for singles such as “Clarity” featuring Foxes and “Break Free”. He has attended other colleges already this year and has put on some amazing concerts.

8.     Childish Gambino

Donald Glover, better known as “Childish Gambino”, is not only a rapper, but an actor, writer, voice actor, comedian, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Gambino has many talents and has been in the media industry for a while, but has recently become well-known by many with his hit songs such as, “3005”, “Heartbeat”, and “Sober”

9.     Sam Hunt

An American singer with a country/pop sound, he has recently become well known for his hit song, “House Party” – which has tunred into a true Bentley favorite.

10. Kalin and Myles

The release of their first EP Chase Dreams in June of 2014, helped their career take off. The duo released their second EP, Dedication, in December 2014. Kalin and Myles are currently on their Just For Fun Tour with Timeflies which began in June of 2015, touring all over the East Coast. Being the dynamic duo they are, they would be sure to give a killer performance for Spring Day. Double the trouble, double the fun, right?
