Why You Should Binge Watch House of Cards (If You Haven’t Already)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

What better way to procrastinate than to binge watch all three seasons of House of Cards? The answer – there is no better way. House of Cards is without a doubt a masterpiece and deserves to be the next show to consume your spare, or not-so-spare, time. Below is the fundamental outline of the Netflix series that will change your life.

What’s it about?

House of Cards follows conniving and manipulative congressman Frank Underwood as he climbs the political ladder, pushing anyone off who steps in his way. Yes… I know that sounds a little harsh, but trust me; it’s actually an understatement.

What’s it like?

There is a 100% chance you will HATE the show’s protagonist, Frank Underwood. It’s inevitable. But, I promise you that you will keep coming back for more. House of Cards is a twisted thriller, a captivating drama, and the AP Gov. class you didn’t take in high school all rolled into one. WARNING: an emotional attachment to certain characters is guaranteed, but don’t get too invested because they might not be around for long.

Where can I watch it?

All 3 seasons of House of Cards are available to stream on Netflix. Lucky for you the third season just came out on February 27th, so you’ll get to skip the anxious one year wait that the rest of us not so patiently endured. (Don’t worry, you’ll be a loyal House of Cards watcher in no time).

How long will it take?

3 seasons x 13 episodes x 1 hour per episode = 39 hours of pure greatness. Don’t watch them all at once! Just kidding, please do.
