The HC BC Date Auction Raises $1,000 for CEO4Teens!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Chants of “Ka-sim, Ka-sim, Ka-sim,” could be heard echoing throughout Roggie’s basement Thursday night, as the charismatic Mike Judd ’13 emceed the first ever Her Campus BC Date Auction.  Before we knew it, Judd had charmed the audience into persuading auctionee and football player (number 91) Kasim Edebali into showing-off his muscles.

With Kasim unbuttoning his shirt, needless to say, the night was off to a nice start.

All of the proceeds from the event benefited CEO4Teens, and at night’s end, HC BC is proud to report a total of $1,000 raised.  Ticket sales from the sold-out event totaled $600 (tickets were limited to 60 due to space restraints) and the remaining $400 came from date raffle tickets.

So how did this event work?

The HC BC team kicked-off advertising the event with a commercial campaign via Facebook and Twitter.  Because HC BC is not a registered club on campus, we recieve no funding or priveleges to advertise on campus through fliers.  However, thanks to film students Michael Dillon ’13 and Ben Heider ’12, we were able to draw a sold-out crowd through a series of witty (yet informative) commercials.

After everyone bought their tickets online through WePay, the event took place Thursday night as everyone arrived at Roggie’s eager to see BC’s hottest bachelors and bachelorettes.  Sexual Chocolate kicked off the entertainment, with Judd following with a presentation of the auctionees.  Through a short series of Q&A’s with each of the bachelors and bachelorettes, Judd had the audience cracking up and hollering for each of the “contestants.”  The audience learned that Ben Heider likes to jump out of planes, Lexi Zonfrelli loves her dessert, and Cara Condon has some mean dance moves.

Once the presentation was complete, the audience was set loose to purchase all the $2 tickets they pleased for the date of their dreams.  They placed their tickets in corresponding envelopes and hoped for the best!  Then, when it was time to wrap up the event, Judd picked the lucky winners.  Funny enough, two lucky boys won not one, not two… but THREE dates!

We’re not sure who is luckier- the these two gentlemen who each won three date auctionees or these girls who get to go out with them!

With a sold-out venue, a lively crowd, and drinks for everyone (well, those 21+), the first ever HC BC Date Auction was a fantastic success.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support HC BC and CEO4Teens!
