This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bates chapter.

Signs You’re Having A Quarter Life Crisis

1. Now that college is almost done, you panic about what your next step should be.
Up until now, education has been your road map but now there’s no natural next step.

2. You realize that you literally don’t know how to adult.
Do you really have to consider benefits when looking at jobs and think about a 401k??

3. After trying to search for apartments, you feel like you’re going to be homeless.
This is so much more difficult than picking a dorm on Frye Street.

4.  You realize that your parents were married at your age and that you’re very single.
This is complicated even further when you have to explain to your grandmother that she shouldn’t expect great grandchildren anytime soon.

5. You start to get nostalgic about college now that you realize we graduate in 6 weeks.
You’re tired of college, but now everything is sentimental…even finals.

6. For the past few years you felt like you didn’t need your parents advice.
Now your call log is only filled with outing calls to your mom.

7. You have no idea how to respond when people ask you questions like, “How will you define success?” or “What is purposeful work to you?”
Money? Happiness? Meaningful work? A healthy and happy family? HELP.

8. Not only do you not know how to adult, you literally don’t want to adult.
As a kid, the idea of being an adult seemed super cool!! Now it just feels like a bunch of bills and unanswered questions.

9. Every now and then you have cravings to do something crazy.
Should you just buy a one-way ticket to a random country after graduation without a plan?? Probably not but the idea has definitely crossed your mind.

10. Your life isn’t panning out like you thought it would.
Trying to let go of your plan to be a dolphin trainer at Sea World by age 20, yet never giving up on your dream to marry Prince Harry.

11. You keep comparing yourself to your classmates.
Why do they have a fantastic job when you worked WAYYYY harder than them??

12. President Spencer reminds you to be the driver of your own bus and you have no idea where you’re going.
Is there a GPS for life??
