Abroad in Sydney: Natasha Przedborski’s Little Travel Journal

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Barnard chapter.

For post number one of Her Campus Barnard’s much anticipated abroad blog, we’re lucky enough to have Natasha Przedborski’s little travel journal. Here she describes in detail the good times, the bad times, the sad times, and most of all, the utterly hilarious times. Check back here on a weekly basis for more of Natasha’s adventures around Sydney and some more installments from other Barnard explorers dotted all around the globe.

As I was walking to Uni one morning from my adorable flat in Redfern, the Bushwick of Sydney, I was feeling a bit homesick. The overwhelming feeling that life was moving on at Barnard while I was struggling through midterms was off putting. Then I received an email on my phone from Her Campus announcing the new semester with another message from the amazing Danielle Truglio. She pitched me the idea of writing a blog about my abroad experiences.

So here it goes: my little travel journal describing in detail the good times, the bad times, the sad times but most of all, the utterly hilarious times. Bare with me as I take you through the love stories, the heartbreaks, the adventures, and the travels through the most beautiful country they call Oz.

Pardon the pun, but I cannot help it. I am Dorothy walking aimlessly down the yellow brick road accompanied by the most amazing people: the lion with the immense heart, the reliable tin man, the guardian angel scarecrow and my beloved sidekick Toto. We don’t know where we are going or what each week has in store for us, but that is of no concern.

In this emerald city I now have the honour of calling home, I have found love, happiness and most of all laughter. I hope to regale you with these tales of my coming of age.
