5 Trends from the 90’s We Haven’t Missed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

1. Crimped Hair

And all other 90’s hairstyles for that matter. Next time you reminisce about your childhood, give thanks that you no longer feel the need to have one of those 4-in-1 straightener/crimping irons to be cool. It was fun while it lasted, but you’re making a good choice by leaving this frizzy ‘do in the past.

2. Bucket Hats

There’s nothing flattering about this trend. There was no real practical or aesthetic purpose of bucket hats other than to hide your crimped hair that’s gone horribly wrong.

3. Overalls

Somehow, overalls were awesome. Somehow, you were even cooler if you wore one strap unbuckled. Let’s all celebrate that we all finally realized that baggy clothes aren’t cute.

4. Jelly Shoes

One word: rocks. There isn’t much more uncomfortable than getting rocks stuck in your jellies. Plus, sweaty feet are a thing and jelly shoes are not the shoes meant for helping that.

5. Windbreakers

These were a 90’s staple, and just like Lisa Frank stickers, absolutely everyone had them. They were the epitome of ugly with over the top patterns in that horrible purple and teal that was so popular.
