To start off the school year, let me introduce you to the year’s first Campus Cutie, Ruben Olmedo! He is a junior studying Nonprofit Leadership and Management, is single, and is originally from Redlands, California. What’s the most outrageous pick-up line you have heard or tried?
I think the most recent one that caught me off guard was “Hey! So are you single?”
What’s the first thing you notice in a person?
First thing that catches my eye is the smile. Good smile and a contagious laugh to go with it, sold.

Who are your celebrity crushes?
Cher Lloyd, without a doubt. What can I say? She just has that X factor.
What are your expectations for this upcoming school year?
Just to do well, get all my stuff done. Have fun. Go on some new adventures. Explore Arizona a little more.
What’s one of the most awkward or embarrassing moments you have encountered on campus?
I was walking down by Noble Library one sunny and unusually busy day, and a bird decided I was a threat to the bird community and began to attack my head. I started running for life… from a bird. I’ll tell ya though, that was one aggressive bird.
Your favorite text message to receive usually says or includes:
Love receiving the “You hungry?” text, or anything along those lines. Few words, but food is a great way to get together.
What would you describe as a deal breaker or automatic turn-off?
If she doesn’t have any sense of humor that could be a little rough. I like to crack some jokes so getting a laugh is nice.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I’d like to think I’m a really great driver. Some of my friends say I should stop thinking…
Who is your favorite musical artist or band?
That’s a tough one… there’s a lot of good music out there. Overall, going to go with Matchbox Twenty.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like hanging out, staying in or going out for a movie. I enjoy trying new foods, trying to cook, and adventuring in new places!
