Name: Nicole Plonk

Major: Double majoring in English and Political Science

Year: Senior

Hometown: Kings Mountain, North Carolina

Q: Why did you want to lead the club?A: Because I was vice president last semester and I really like English classes, especially since I finished all the classes for my degree.

Q: When are the meetings?A: Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. in Sanford 208.

Q: Who can come?A: Really just anyone who’s interested in English. We’d really like to get some English minors to come.

Q: What are your duties as president?A: Make sure the meetings start on time. I have to go to Appsync. Keep in touch with English professors. Keep up with ideas for the club for the year. Make sure it’s not boring.

Q: What do you like most about the position?A: Getting to just try to improve English, trying to recruit more students, and trying to come up with good ideas.

Q: What do you like least about the position?A:  There’s nothing I really don’t like about the position so far.

Q: What are your goals for the club?A: Well, my goal is to make the club a little bit bigger. One of my goals is to have events that are open to all students in the English Department to get more English students involved with what’s going on in their department.

Q: What are your plans after graduation next year?A: If I don’t get into law school, I’ll end up having to take the GRE. I’ve considered going to grad school for English, but my plan is to go to law school.

Q: Where can people typically find you?A:  Uhm, with my cat. And, I hangout in the library in the mornings.
