Fall in Boone is almost everyone’s favorite time of year. The leaves are changing color, the air is cooling, and Instagram is filling up with cliche pictures of the parkway. The following events are going on now and coming up soon, so you can change up your routine of pumpkin patches and parkway drives.

Tweetsie Railroad Ghost Train Festival

The festival runs October 21-22 and 28-29, opening at 7:30pm. It’s $36 per person, including the train ride, a haunted house, Halloween shows, 3D maze, trick or treating and more! Great for a date night, family visiting, or an outing with your ghoulfriends.

Ashe Farmers Holiday Market & Holiday Parade

On November 19, the Ashe County Farmers Market will be open for local foods, crafts, and other handmade items. I mean, who doesn’t love a farmer’s market? In the afternoon, head back to downtown for the annual parade! There will be local bands, dance groups, police force, and more!

Lighting of the Christmas Tree

Head into Blowing Rock on November 26 from 2pm to 8pm for an afternoon of carolers, games, hot cocoa, and even Santa! I mean, I definitely will be there letting Santa know exactly what I want for Christmas.

I hope you get a chance to go to some of these events, taking in all that the Appalachian Mountains offer for holiday season.
