Best Hookup Spots on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Amherst chapter.

You’re halfway though the year, and your dorm room has started to get a bit old as a hookup spot.  That, or your roommate is ready to kill you if you sexile her one more time.  Here are a few ideas for more interesting places to hookup on campus, so your roommate can finally get some sleep!

Practice Rooms in the Music Building: The practice rooms are ideal for hooking up in, because they lock.  One of your musical friends is sure to have a key you can borrow.  Plus you can get your guy to serenade you on the piano while you’re there.

The Library Viewing Room/Study Rooms: These rooms are also great because they lock.  And hooking up in the library is a rite of passage college experience.

The Japanese Garden:
This little treasure tucked away on the side of Webster is often overlooked.  It’s a cute, scenic place to go, and it has nice bench for you to get nice and cosy on.

The Movie Theater in Keefe: It’s large and dark, and there are lots of comfy chairs.  The movie theater is also frequently empty.  Relive your middle school days of going to the movies and making out with your boyfriend in the back row.

The Elevator in Your Dorm: If you don’t feel like leaving your dorm and going out into the cold, the elevator is a fun option.  It is best to use the elevator to hookup in very late at night, so that there is less of a chance that some poor, unsuspecting resident coming back from the library will call for the elevator while you’re in there and drop her books in surprise when the door opens.

Memorial Hill:
Mem hill is an Amherst hookup classic.  It is of course best to wait for warmer weather for this one.  Mem hill has the best view on campus.  It’s the perfect place to enjoy some stargazing and whatever else it is you feel like doing.  Wait for nightfall so that you don’t have an audience.
