Meet Tiffany Ofonagoro.  Tiffany is a junior here at the University, and she’s from the Bronx.  She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a minor business.

What are you involved in on campus: I’m currently involved  in three orgs, and I volunteer.  For ASA (the African Students Association,) I serve as a part of the community service committee, WEB (Women Excelling in Business,) and NABA (the National Association of Black Accountants) as a part of the membership committee.  I also do hair in my free time.

What type of hair do you do?

Box braids, marley twists, faux locs, crochet braids, and I make wigs.

How can people get in contact with you for a hair appointment?  They can follow my Instagram: @amarachi._

What are some challenges you’ve faced in college: Definitely finding a way to manage my responsibilities, while being involved in multiple organizations.

What are some successes: I’d have to say making the Dean’s List was big for me.  Also, I’ve gained a lot of valuable skills while here at school that will help me later in life.

Post graduation plans: I plan on going to graduate school, to get my masters in Accounting.  With that, I hope to one day open my own practice.

One of your favorite memories at UAlbany: Seeing J Cole at Parkfest my freshman year.

Any plans for Spring Break?  I’m going to Atlanta to visit my family.

Tabia is a senior at SUNY University at Albany. She is studying Journalism with a minor in History and Africana Studies. She would love a career in Journalism as an Arts and Entertainment Reporter. She wants to go to graduate school in her native New York City or Boston, Massachusetts. In her spare time she likes to dance, sing, watch new shows on Hulu and read Her Campus articles. She is currently the Podium Perspective Director and a Staff Writer for the Albany Student Press and a founding member of Kappa Alpha Pi. Go Danes!
