Starbucks is releasing two new limited-edition lattes, and they’re guaranteed to blow your mind. We did not see these flavors coming!
Starting this Tuesday, Feb. 16, you’ll be able to order a Smoked Butterscotch Latte and a Teavana Green Tea Citrus Latte for a limited time. The additions are based on seasonal drinks that were available at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room in Seattle. This is basically Starbucks HQ, where customers can get a “fully immersive, sensory experience.”
The Butterscotch Latte includes espresso, steamed milk, smoked butterscotch sauce, and smoked butterscotch crumbles on top. The Green Tea Citrus Latte will combine green tea, citrus mint syrup, steamed milk and lemon essence. Both drinks will be available iced, hot, or blended—And we know we’ll be trying every possible version of these.
Zoe Bain, Senior Food Editor at Refinery29, was able to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the two lattes. It’s pretty interesting to see how a new Starbucks drink goes from idea to a full-fledged menu item. Read more about her experience at the Roastery here.
