George Clooney and Girlfriend Stacey Keibler Split after Sexless Relationship

Good news for you collegiettes who have a bit of a crush on the one and only George Clooney: he’s single again! US Weekly revealed that George Clooney and Stacey Keibler, a couple of two years, are no longer together. They reported that “no one got dumped” and that this was a mutual decision which had been coming for a long time. In fact, it has been suggested that the couple split because Stacey wants to have children and to settle down: something that George doesn’t want.

For those not up on their Clooney trivia, he was once married, in 1989 to actress Talia Balsam, but they divorced in 1993 and he has never shown signs of wanting to marry again.

Since Us Weekly broke the news of their split, more light has been shed on the break-up with new suggestions that the couple had not had sex for months and that this was the reason for their break up.  However, this isn’t as shocking as it first seems, as the couple have not been in the same city for many months; George has been in Europe and Stacey has been in L.A..

The couple were first seen together in 2011 and quickly became an item after their debut at the Toronto Film Festival. Despite their initial closeness, the couple have drifted apart in the last few months, partially due to the distance and with some reports saying that they were starting to feel the age difference.

The last time the couple were photographed together was in March in Berlin, where Clooney was filming at the time. The former couple hope to remain friends, as they spoke every day and were friends even before they were an item. We wish them luck with what we all know is a difficult task!
