Lose the Freshman 15: Still being social while being helathy

Writing about my fast food plan yesterday really inspired me to make sure I’m prepared every time I eat out. dailylog40
After all, just because I live a social life, that doesn’t mean I can’t stay committed to the Jump Start Diet, right?

Yesterday Addison and I were supposed to go on a double date with Megan and Clayton (two friends who helped out with our proposal). Unfortunately, Clayton couldn’t come, but we decided to go anyway. At first I started getting a bit nervous about going out. After all, every time Addi and I had gone to Chili’s on a double date before, we always did the 2 for 20 deal. But, I had it in my mind that there couldn’t possibly be anything healthy on the 2 for 20 menu. So, I was just going to settle for a salad I’ve had there before which I knew was within the calorie allotment.

Luckily, my ride was late so as I sat there on my couch twiddling my thumbs, I decided to look up the nutrition facts for Chili’s menu. I am so glad I did! Turns out one of my favorite meals on the 2 for 20 menu— the chicken fajitas—is actually UNDER what I’m allowed to have for dinner.

And here I was thinking the only healthy option available was a salad. PFFT! Addison and Megan split the appetizer, and I enjoyed the most delicious and satisfying meal I’ve had in a while (if you’ve noticed, I’ve taken a hiatus on cooking and eating mainly Kashi frozen dinners).

I hope you don’t think eating healthy is hopeless and only possible for people who can cook 24/7. You can eat delicious foods out with people without feeling like you stick out like a sore thumb. You just need to be prepared and do your research.
