Lose the Freshman 15: My Date Night Setback

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Hey collegiettes™!

In yesterday’s blog post, I researched and shared 10 healthy options that restaurants offered since last night I had plans with my guy, and today I have plans with my girls.

Well, last night didn’t go quite as planned. I started my day out with a bowl of oatmeal (150 cal.), a serving of Kraft’s Italian pasta salad and a Sargento string cheese (80 cal.) for my snack. I planned to eat as healthy as possible for my dinner and (maybe) dessert on my night out but things didn’t go as expected.

I caved. 1108573 52369514

Yeah, I admit it–I had a weak moment.

For dinner, we ate at T.G.I. Friday’s and had their new Mediterranean skewers because they looked like they wouldn’t be too bad for me to eat on my diet, and it seemed like I could easily stay under 1,600 calories a day as per SELF‘s Jump Start Diet. However, I conveniently can’t seem to locate the nutrition information for this meal and am thoroughly disappointed in that, and more in myself.

Also, I had a screwdriver (vodka and orange juice) or four (181 cal. per drink). Jillian Michaels doesn’t completely cut out alcohol on the diet though; however, it’s limited to two glasses of wine. I definitely surpassed my calorie intake limit.

Just a minor setback, but one that definitely shouldn’t have happened. For the movie, I snuck in two bottles of orange mango flavored Honest Tea for us, but no snacks. I didn’t deserve any!

I was bound to make a mistake sooner or later, I didn’t expect to be completely perfect throughout the duration of my diet but I’m moving forward and ready to continue to kick butt.

Have you ever had diet meal flubs? What were they and what did you do to make it up (exercise longer, difficult workout, skipping dessert, etc.)? Send me an e-mail at allylopez@hercampus.com or Tweet me (@allylopez)!

Love,
