Taylor Swift’s 2016 Grammys Speech Just Became Even More Inspiring

If there was one word to describe Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Album of the Year from the 2016 Grammys, it would be “empowering.” Though the content of her speech was prompted by the controversy over Kanye West’s “Famous,” which Kim Kardashian later exposed Taylor over, the message in the acceptance speech is still one we can get behind.

“As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Taylor said back in 2016. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you’ll know it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

This speech continues to be a source of inspiration to women of all ages, and a new ad for the 2017 Grammys—which will take place Feb. 12—shows young girls reciting the very same words as they take part in the things they’re most passionate about.

Take a look at it below—it might be the most uplifting thing you’ll see all day.
