Miley Cyrus Gets Real About Not Wanting to Marry Liam Hemsworth Right Now

Judging by Miley Cyrus’s latest interview with The Sun, it’s going to be a while before she becomes Mrs. Liam Hemsworth. Though the couple restored our faith in love by getting re-engaged after time apart, Miley doesn’t seem too eager to get hitched.

“I’m 24,” Miley said. “I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do [before I get married].” It only makes sense, as the singer is still finding who she is, which is evident if you listen to “Younger Now.”

Miley didn’t exactly expect to be happily engaged to Liam at this point in her life, which is enough to show why she wants to wait. “Three years ago, if you’d asked me if I’d be here, this happy with this man, I’d have been stunned. I’m just riding this out. In some relationships, you lose yourself by being with someone else. Actually, it made me find myself more. I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it’s possible to get even happier, I’ll take it.” Aww! If this is what works for them, I’m absolutely thrilled for the couple.

The “Malibu” singer went on to say, “I just want people to see that this is who I am right now. I’m not saying I’ve never been myself. Who I was on the last record was really who I am. It’s just myself has been a lot of different people because I change a lot. I think I’m just figuring out who I am at such a rapid pace that it’s hard for me to keep up with myself.” You go, Miley!

No matter how long we have to wait to see Liam and Miley walk down the aisle, it will all be worth it. It’s clear Miley is being thoughtful about getting married. There’s no shame in putting her happiness first.
