This Fan Made a ‘Harry Potter’ Prequel & It’s Brilliant

Harry Potter fans have been dying with excitement since the series’ prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, was confirmed. And this fan-released prequel has only added to our enthusiasm.

The video, created by professional video editor Justin Zagri, became an instant hit when it was posted to YouTube. It focuses on the Marauders right after they finished Hogwarts in 1978.

After doing a poll on Facebook, it became obvious to Zagri that the prequel needed to revolve around the Marauders. He told Buzzfeed, “So I read the books again, did some research, and came up with a story that I feel had something to say, while making sure we got to know both Snape and the Marauders when they were transitioned into adults, and how events of their past helped shape their future.”

We absolutely love Zagri’s prequel and only hope that the forthcoming movie is as good. We hope Zagri (or other dedicated Harry Potter fans) put out more original content, so we can continue to get hyped up for Fantastic Beast’s release!
