Brie Larson Will Play Marvel’s First Female Superhero

As if seeing the first trailer for Wonder Woman wasn’t enough to get you fired up about female superheroes, we’ve got some big news for you.

According to Cosmopolitan, Marvel has recently announced that Oscar winner Brie Larson will play Captain Marvel, also known as Carol Danvers, in Captain Marvel, aka the first female-led superhero movie for Marvel, ever. Hell yeah.

Marvel announced the news at Comic-Con with Brie confirming it via her Instagram on the same day.

Call me Captain Marvel.

Basically, this is incredible news for superhero fans because tbh, there are not enough female heroes in the world, especially on the big screen. Women have been overlooked for too long in this sphere (I mean, Black Widow STILL hasn’t gotten her own movie) but finally, our prayers have been answered.

Captain Marvel will be hitting a theatre near you in March 2019. It’ll be worth the wait.
