Bachelor in Paradise’s Marcus & Lacy Were Never Legally Married

Bachelor in Paradise viewers will remember Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul, the couple whose romance blossomed during their stint on the reality show and resulted in a TV wedding on a Mexican beach last June. Well, in an exclusive interview with Life & Style, Grodd reveals that not only have he and Faddoul broken up, but they weren’t legally married to begin with!

Grodd dishes that his fiancée completely cut off contact with him two months ago. “It feels like she’s a runaway bride,” he says. “We had this fantastic relationship, and then it totally vanished. It was like she ran away.”

Calling her a runaway bride might be a stretch, considering they were not legally husband and wife. Following their June 2015 wedding, they were “supposed to start the paperwork. But she stalled.” Now, he says, “I feel duped.”

In hindsight, Grodd seems to think the downward spiral began when he left for basic Marine training following Bachelor in Paradise. When he reunited with Faddoul three months later, he felt that their relationship was not the same: “I wanted to move in together but she recommended that I find my own place.”

Grodd says things seemed better between them around the holidays, sharing that “it seemed like we both wanted to move forward.” In January, however, he found “flirtatious” texts on her phone; he doesn’t know if she cheated on him, but they didn’t see each other as often after that.

Finally, two months ago, Grodd and Faddoul met for dinner. After that, Grodd reveals, “She just cut off all communication.”

If you ever needed a sign to not rush into marriage, take Grodd’s story as a warning.
