17 Reasons Why New Year’s Eve is the Worst

Hanukkah and Christmas pass, and there’s only one thing to look forward to before starting a new semester—New Year’s Eve. NYE is supposed to be a night filled with champagne, sparkles and friends—but does it ever live up to its expectations? Here are some reasons why we think NYE is actually the worst.

1. You can’t find anything to wear in your closet, of course.

2. So naturally, you head to the mall…

3. And there goes all your Hanukkah/Christmas money!

4. On the bright side, you have a killer outfit…

5. But just like every year, nowhere to go.

6. You could hit the bars, but you’re not 21 yet.

7. Everything costs way too much money.

8. Ooh, that kid from high school is having people over!

9. You show up with your girls dressed to the nines…

10. Why are all these people that you hate here?

11. You opt to stand in the corner drinking champagne.

12. A few too many creeps try hitting on you.

13. Your heels may look killer, but they’re killing your feet.

14. The ball dropping is never as exciting as you hype it up to be.

15. Your New Year’s kiss is a shot of vodka.

16. There’s always someone who drinks a bit too much…

17. And despite it all, you’ll go through the same sequence next year.

Happy New Year, collegiettes!
