Katy Perry at the NYC Windows Phone Launch

Last night I went to the Windows Phone launch at Roseland Ballroom in NYC where Katy Perry performed. Windows hosted a free concert and Katy did not disappoint!

The just-married popstar kicked off the concert with Hot ‘n’ Cold and got the whole audience really into it. She looked so cute in another one of her infamous latex dresses with cupcakes on it.  And the stage made me feel like I’d stepped into a lifesize game of Candy Land.

She played songs that I hadn’t heard yet from her new album, including my new favorite, “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” which sort of reminded me theme-wise of her BFF Rihanna’s new song, “Cheers.”

After the show I got to meet Katy and she was so sweet and nice! It was the perfect end to a really fun launch party.

HC’s Dorm Life editor, Amanda First, went to Windows Open House last month and got to see a preview of the new phone. I only got to play with the phone for a little, but I liked it! It’s a very sleek touch screen phone that seems like a hybrid of the Droid and iPhone. But if you’ve read Amanda’s blog post, you know that there are different models of the new Windows Phone, which gives it appeal for different types of phone users!

If you’ve already gotten the Windows phone let me know below what you think of it! Should I switch from my Crackberry to this when my contract is up in January?
