Apply to be a Young Champion for Women in the WIE Symposium!

Calling all entrepreneurial-minded collegiettes™! Women: Inspiration & Enterprise (WIE) are looking for 20 up-and-coming female leaders to attend the WIE Inspiration Day at their convention in New York City this month!

 


 


The WIE (Women: Inspiration & Enterprise) is an annual conference where the world’s leading women come together to inspire the next generation of women. This year’s symposium, hosted by media mogul Arianna Huffington, designer Donna Karen, and President of the children’s charity PiggyBankKids Sarah Brown, will take place September 18th and 19th at 82 Mercer Street in New York City.

The conference features several high-profile keynote speakers who come from all industries including actress and founder of Cancersmancher Fran Drescher, fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, CEO of Garrison Institute Mary Pearl and New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, just to name a few. It also has a full schedule of sessions meant to empower women in communications, health, education and advocacy, and so much more.

This year, WIE is partnering up with the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood, an organization which raises awareness about for women worldwide. And both the WIE and WRA are inviting collegiettes™ like you to join them!

They will be selecting 20 female applicants between the ages of 18-28 to attend the WIE Inspiration Day as designated Young Champions for Women. Selected applicants will be granted free admission to WIE on September 19th but this doesn’t cover any travel costs or accommodations.

Alexandra is a graduate from the University of New Hampshire and the current Assistant Digital Editor at Martha Stewart Living. As a journalism student, she worked as the Director of UNH’s Student Press Organization (SPO) and on staff for four student publications on her campus. In the summer of 2010, she studied abroad at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, in England, where she drank afternoon tea and rode the Tube (but sadly no, she did not meet Prince Harry). Since beginning her career, her written work has appeared in USA Today College, Huffington Post, Northshore, and MarthaStewart.com, among others.
