Lose the Freshman 15: Healthy Twitter Accounts to Follow!

TGIF collegiettes!  I can’t believe that I’m in my last week of classes and that my freshman year of college is almost over– WOW, time flies!  Thanks to this amazing program though, I should be on track to return home at the same weight I entered college!  It’s been quite the journey leading up this weight gain, but I am so happy to be on the journey of weight loss now.

As we all know, staying on track can be tough.  One not so obvious tool that may be of use to you is… Twitter!

Read more about the study here.

Not only is Twitter beneficial because you can tweet about your own experiences, but there is a huge selection of health-related accounts for you to follow that are both informational and motivational!  Since most of us are addicted to checking social media anyway, why not follow some accounts that can help you lose weight too?

  • @SELFMagazine – perfect source for healthy recipes, fitness tips, fashion picks, and more!
  • @Women_Fit – great for words of encouragement and inspirational quotes to keep you going throughout the day
  • @HealthHabits – “Personal Trainer, Blogger, and generally obsessed with fat loss, health, and fitness”– I love the links to the informational articles!
  • @FITNESS – “Daily tips on health, nutrition, fitness, dieting and more. Helping you build a better you!”
  • @DietBet – wonderful sense of community for people trying to lose weight!  Be sure to sign up for the next dieting game here!  I am about to finish my first DietBet game, and it was an awesome experience.  I would say my favorite aspect of the game is the little “Daily Carrots” that DietBet sends.  They all include a quote and then an small tidbit of information about losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle.  Plus, it doesn’t hurt to earn a little extra cash along the way!

What are some of your favorite healthy Twitter accounts to follow?  The more, the merrier!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and enjoy this beautiful weather!
