Serena Williams Just Launched Her Own Fashion Line & It’s As Badass As She Is

Although Serena Williams has collaborated with other fashion brands in the past, she’s finally releasing her own fashion collection. On Wednesday, Williams launched her collection, aptly named Serena, on her website— and this just gives us another excuse to update our wardrobe.

On her website, Williams notes that her collection is  “inspired by strong, sexy, sophisticated, sassy, sure, smart, stylish, silly, and spontaneous women who are living their best lives, or making it up as they go.” We feel seen because we’ve been faking our best lives for our entire adult lives.

ELLE reports that items in Williams’ titular fashion line range from $35-$250, and each piece is better than the last. From a sexy silk slip dress to a metallic gold bomber jacket, the collection has something for everyone, which is a problem because now we’re going to need a second job to subsidize these wardrobe essentials.

Serena told Women’s Wear Daily that her clothes are designed for someone “that is unapologetically themselves….[that stands] out because they are strong or they’re beautiful or they want to not be the norm.” Williams notes that her typical customer is “someone who looks at fashion as a compass to show who they are, to show what they are.”

With the launch of a clothing brand that is unequivocally linked to the empowerment of women, just like Williams is, the tennis star shared a heartfelt message about her childhood dream finally coming to fruition.

“After 15 years of false starts, and people in fashion telling me ‘no,’ it only drove me to work harder. As a result, I discovered what it meant to invest in myself, and I allowed that belief in myself to drive me to reach my dream,” she writes in an emotional Instagram post.

Serena Williams concludes her post by saying, “Never stop believing in yourself, you’re worth it.” Honestly, we needed to hear that, Serena.
