The Margiela for H&M collection hits stores in less than a month on November 15. Arguably H&M’s most avant-garde collaboration, the collection “brings together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all,” as the store stated in June. And surprise they did, in the best way possible, when they released their lookbook earlier last week.

Each item in the collection is a re-edition of iconic Margiela styles from the last 23 years since the fashion house’s founding. With 104 total pieces, including women’s, men’s, accessories, and footwear, the collection will showcase the most representative pieces of the Margiela archive, but at far more accessible price points.

Some key looks from the collaboration are perfect examples of Margiela’s notoriously deconstructed, minimalist aesthetic. Oversized, volumetric silhouettes, menswear interpreted for the female body, ambiguous trompe l’oeil designs – it’s all there. Our favorites include the invisible heel wedge boots and the extra-long-sleeved turtlenecks.

It’s the perfect antidote to H&M’s last collaboration with Italian maximalist Anna dello Russo, boasting a muted color palette and little detail rather than over-the-top gold embellishment and tiny hemlines.

With less than four weeks to go until the collection launches, you’ve got plenty of time to pick your favorite pieces – just be prepared to wait in line with the rest of us come November 15!
