How to Have Better Oral Sex, As Told By This Unique Sex Toy

So here’s the thing: we just found a very, very cute (and like, GOOD) sex toy and we want to talk to you about it. Sex toys are SO empowering, and it’s important that we talk about sex toys openly, honestly, and without shame. It’s 2018, you guys. We masturbate. Let’s talk about it.

ICYMI, every week on the Her Campus Instagram Live, Rachel and Gina host #SexTalk, and we’re taking it here, to our site, so we can get even more ~real~ with you. We have a ton of thoughts about sex toys, from vibrators to strap-ons to dildos and more, and we’ve learned that we really like to hang out with you all and just like, chat about them. We’re always here for you, and we’re excited to talk to you about masturbation and sex in this new and exciting way.

The current sex thing we’re excited about right now: The Satisfyer Pro 2.

Q: The Satisfyer Pro 2 is all about oral sex. What’s your take on oral sex in general?

Gina: Gimme gimme gimme. I love the idea of a toy that replicates oral sex, especially if you’re at a place in life when you don’t have a partner and might miss the feeling of oral.

Rachel: #1 fan

Elaina: It’s my favorite thing – the only thing that makes me truly orgasm. It’s both foreplay and the final act for me.

Q: How did you feel about the look of the product?

Gina: The pink shade is so chic and approachable. It’s cute enough that I have no problem leaving it out on my nightstand. I enjoy the size (I don’t like when vibrators are huge and menacing), and it was very easy to use and set up.

Rachel: Huge fan of the color. I’m also just very happy that sex toys are going down a less aggressively penis-like road. It didn’t feel too clunky to me, but also wasn’t super tiny – it feels like a middle ground size-wise. Huge fan of it being USB-chargeable, and safe for use in the shower.

Elaina: I think it’s a little too big for my taste – it looks very much like a face-washing tool at first glance. I do like the color, however, and the shape is sleek. I charged it at my desk at work and no one gave it a second glance.

Q: How did it go down?

Gina: Clitoral stimulation is what I measure all toys against, so this one ranked very highly. I agree that it doesn’t exactly feel like oral sex (truly replicating that would be hard since everyone’s experiences and preferences with that are so different), but it does feel good and exciting despite that. I love the little pulsations, and I would almost say it’s more intense than oral sex.

Rachel: As far as orgasms go, this can definitely make that happen if you’re someone who is all about clitoral stimulation. Still, though, it didn’t feel quite like oral sex. I mean, obviously it’s not going to be exact, but it felt more like a verrrrry powerful clit vibe instead of something with the like, smooth flow and then sudden overwhelm of someone eating you out.

Elaina: When I applied the product directly with some pressure, I felt like there was a little woodpecker just like, pecking at my clit. It’s also very loud, and makes a weird suctioning noise that’s also kind of awkward when trying to be intimate. Those things aside, I was able to orgasm pretty quickly – the vibration is pretty intense when applied directly. I did have to turn up the power to max to reach orgasm, however. I am someone who needs a good amount of pressure from oral sex to finish, so that could be why.

Q: Did you try it solo, or with a partner?

Gina: I used this solo – and actually in the bath. I have an assortment waterproof sex toys that I’ve never trusted to be ~truly~ waterproof, but this one seemed sturdy enough, so I risked it. I also used this outside of water, and I wouldn’t say there’s any real difference in the feeling when it’s submerged or not, which I appreciate.

Rachel: I used this first with a partner, and then solo. Very different experience.

Elaina: I tried it both solo and with a partner.

Q: If you used it with a partner, what was their take?

Rachel: I used this with a partner, and I thought it was going to be easier than it was. It’s the kind of thing I feel like the person it’s being used on ultimately has to control, which can be hot if you’re going for more of a “watching someone masturbate” vibe, but if you want to actually use it on someone it’s very very difficult. You have to know EXACTLY where all their shit is and then somehow keep it there while doing the other body things you want to do.

Elaina: My partner was honestly at a loss for what to do with it at first. Most of the sex toys I have used in the past have been a little smaller and more intuitive. I mean he definitely knows where my spots are, but he couldn’t really find them with the white tip of this thing.  It was also just super awkward because of the loud sounds – I think he said something like “sounds like a helicopter is about to land on your junk.”I definitely think this is better used solo than with a partner. Like with a glass of wine, or in the shower or something. It’s a pretty decent product if you’re trying to treat yourself.

Q: If you didn’t use it with a partner, would you?

Gina: Tbh, this is a vibrator that feels very immediate and something you need to use firsthand. I agree with Rachel that the person using it needs to be in control, so for this one I really just wanted to have me-time with it.

Elaina: See above. Gina says this all way more eloquently than me.

Q: What toys do you usually prefer?

Rachel: I have a very large, very loud, old school Magic Wand that I plug into the wall. It’s my constant companion.

Gina: Retweet to the Magic Wand. It’s my go-to and will probably always be #1 in my heart.

Elaina: I have a 6 year old Rabbit – one of the ears actually is missing. I’m not even sure how – maybe a cat or something? But I still love it.

Q: How did this toy stack up against your usual?

Gina: I enjoyed getting to play with a toy that feels totally different in terms of appearance and sensation. It definitely got me out of my lazy masturbation routine. And while my wand will always come in first place, I would definitely reach for this again (and often) depending on what kind of mood I’m in.

Rachel: It was really just kind of different. I think I liked this more as a solo toy than a partner toy, whereas the magic wand I use for both depending on my mood. I feel like I would reach for this moreso if I was having sex with a guy or a woman using a strap-on and just wanted to add some extra ~oomph~ to the situation by using this on myself.

Elaina: I like the versatility of the rabbit. There is no penetrative quality to the Satisfyer.

Q: How would you describe the toy in 1 word?

Gina: Energetic.

Elaina: Woodpecker.

Rachel: Impactful.
