Real Live College Guy: I Rejected Him, But Now I Want To Date Him

I exchanged numbers with a guy I had rejected about a month ago. He told me the ball was in my court and to let him know when I’m ready to go out. How long should I wait to text him and make plans? – Ro

Ro,

I’m confused as to why you would text him at all if you had already rejected him. Unless you’ve suddenly changed your mind…it really just doesn’t make sense to me.

So let’s say you did change your mind—for whatever reason—and now you want to go out with him. What to do? Just text him. It’s already been over a month. Shoot him a text to see if he wants to hang out (and if you’re not ready to “date” him, make it clear that it’s just a casual thing to see what might happen between you two).

You’ve already waited this long. There’s not much point to waiting longer, otherwise you may as well just forget about it completely.
