Meet Peter Stoll.  Displaying wit and humor, Peter is an allover down to earth nice guy.  The student who nominated him said “Peter is in one of my classes and he is so friendly!” Surprisingly, he just transferred to Conn this semester but he is already making his presence known on campus.

Name: Peter Stoll
School: Conn College
Hometown: Larchmont, NY
Major: Architectural Studies
Dorm: Larrabee
Relationship Status: Single

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Flight, for sure. It’s teleportation for people who aren’t in a hurry.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what are three items you couldn’t live without?

A wilson volleyball, some red paint, and a pocket watch.

Who is your idol and why?
Mark Messier. He’s gritty, he’s a leader, and he brought the Stanley Cup to New York.
What is one of your pet peeves?
Loud chewing. I’m just not trying to hear that.
What’s your go-to dish at Harris?
Whatever fits on the plate.
If you could be any celebrity who would it be?
I’m gonna go with Matt Damon. He’s cerebral, but still a badass.
How do you feel about being this week’s Campus Cutie?
It’s a really nice compliment! Pretty surprising, too. I mean, I only transferred here 3 weeks ago.
Describe Conn in one word.
Gestalt.

Meet Jordan Hathorne, recent transfer from Portland State University and Public Relations major. His passion is sports and technology, but he also loves cooking, guitar, and hanging with friends. Check him out on campus!

Shool: Oregon
Age: 22
Major: Public Relations
Hometown: Lake Oswego, OR

Describe yourself in five words.
Outgoing. Positive. Fun. Friendly. Humerous.

What are your hobbies?
I like to watch soccer, work on computers, play soccer, play guitar, listen to music, and hang out with my friends.

What’s your perfect date?
I’d have to say going to a pub for a dinner, then a Timbers game, then a concert after that. That would be awesome.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
My real answer would be a monkey so I could throw feces and not get in trouble… (laughs) just kidding! It would be cool to be a monkey because they’re fun, intelligent, and they use tools—that’s big. They don’t really get in fights, they’re just in general pretty chill animals.

What’s your dream career?
That’s hard. I would say… there’s so many! I think it would be something tech related, working for Microsoft, Intel, Google, but that also works with people so I get to deal with people and also work with technology. Other than that, maybe working for the Timbers as a communications director. It would be great to be a part of that culture and just work for something I truly truly enjoy.

Name three things you want to do before you die.
I want to travel the world, as cliché as that sounds. I want to see the Timbers or Blazers win a championship (laughs). And, I want my brother Zack and I to be on the Amazing Race. That’d be so sick. That’s like a dream.

Describe an embarrassing moment for you.
Well this one time last term, I was starving so I stopped to get a bagel with cream cheese before class. It was this garlic cream cheese, super good. I walk into class and I just dropped it right in front of me. I was so hungry, I didn’t think anyone was watching so I just picked it up and kept eating. Like half the class was watching me just disgusted. So awkward.. I was so hungry though!

What’s your favorite food?
Definitely clam chowder. I love clam chowder, especially in a bread bowl with Tabasco sauce. Or fish and chips. But no, if someone asked me if there was only one food I could eat for the rest of my life, it would be clam chowder. One time I ate it like seven days in a row. And the sick thing about it was only like a day after that I ended up getting clam chowder again somewhere else. It’s a magical thing.

Favorite Disney movie?
I love Ratatouille. I really like cooking so the kitchen atmosphere was really visually pleasing and he was a pretty cool rat.

What do you love about University of Oregon?
I really like U of O, but probably the people. So far, since transferring here from PSU, I’ve met a lot of really cool and smart people. It’s cool to meet so many people intelligent in different areas like psychology and business and others, and seeing them in their element doing what they want to do. It’s a really inspiring place to be.

Name: Daniel C. Mazzei
School: Suffolk
Academic Year: Freshman
Hometown: Tewksbury, MA
Major: Journalism
Relationship Status: Taken…sorry ladies!

Born and raised an athletic hockey player, this campus cutie is one to look out for not only on campus, but also on the ice:“I just started in January with the [Suffolk] team after transferring from Wentworth, so it’s hard for me to say how things have been all year, but we’re working hard every day to get better and hopefully start posting some wins. I started as a center for the team, but due to some injuries I’ve been moved back to defense. Juggling school and hockey can be difficult and stressful at times, but for the most part I’m able to get in and out of practicequickly, so I have plenty of time to take care of my work. My favorite hockey team is the Boston Bruins, and my favorite player is Patrice Bergeron. This is where I live and grew up so I’ve always supported the home team.”

If you had to describe yourself in just 3 words, what would they be?
“Yo soy fiesta.” Sorry for those who don’t understand the Gronk (Patriots) reference.

Celebrity crush: My celebrity crush is definitely Charlize Theron.

Tell me something most people don’t know about you? Something most people don’t know about me is that I’m a 21-year-old freshman.

Turn-ons: Classy, intelligent, confident, athletic body, nice teeth, and brunettes are a must!
Turnoffs: Girls that act stupid on purpose, party animals, dressing trashy, and odd piercings just don’t work for me.

Year: 2016
School: Brandeis
Hometown: New Rochelle, New York
Major and Minor: Psychology major considering adding HSSP as a second major.
Relationship status: Single

What are you involved in on campus?
I’m on the crew team and I’m currently pledging Sigma Alpha Mu

When did you know that you wanted to be involved in crew?
I started rowing for the crew team last year at my old school (because I’m a transfer). I’ve always loved the water and rowing seemed like a good outlet for me and also it’s an amazing work out. After the first semester I absolutely fell in love with everything about the sport and since then cant imagine not rowing.

Where did you transfer from?
I transferred from Hofstra University.

What appealed to you about Brandeis?
Aside from the gorgeous campus, one of the biggest selling points for me about Brandeis was the overwhelming sense of community I felt on campus. While visiting different schools Brandeis was the only one that made me feel welcomed before even being accepted. It was the kind of place that made me feel like I belonged and that feeling remains the same even now.

How has your experience been so far?
I absolutely love it here. In a month I’ve had more fun and met more people here than I did at my old school. I’m a lot more involved and I feel like I’m where I truly belong.

How has your experience been on crew?
My experience with this team has been amazing so far. When transferring schools one of my biggest concerns was adjusting to a new team, but there was no awkward adjustment period with the Brandeis crew. The day I walked onto the team they made me feel like a part of the family and I’m so happy to be here and to be rowing for them.

What are you most looking forward to next semester?
I’m looking forward to the spring race season with my team and also a few of the classes that I’m already planning on taking.

Do you have any advice for any transfer students?
My best advice to any other transfers is to hit the ground running. You obviously transferred for a reason and now that you’re here don’t hold anything back. With college, what you put in is what you’ll get out so give it everything you’ve got.

What is a quirk that you like about yourself that people don’t know?
I suppose one thing that not everyone knows about me is that I’m a singer. And I mean I’m almost always singing. If I’m not singing then something must be terribly wrong.

This weeks Campus Cutie is new to BU.

As a transfer student and COM major, Ryan can be seen waltzing the halls of COM, manning a camera on a film set, or hanging out with his two freshman roommates he has taken under his wing.

Ryan Whitten is a Junior from Albany, New York, who transferred from SUNY Oneonta to pursue a degree in Advertising. When asked what it is like being a transfer student, Ryan replied “It’s the same as being a regular student – except you kinda feel like a freshman.”

Ryan is an active member of BU’s brand new Digital Media Club, and was an integral part of launching their new app, uPlannr. He is also an account executive for Ad Club, and spends his spare time working on numerous film projects.

Along with a knack for computers and technology, Ryan has a love for music. He plays guitar and sings – can you say yes, please? He also enjoys exploring the great outdoors – especially hiking. He’s currently working with an old professor on a documentary about the 235-mile Trans Adirondack route – one that he’s hiked many times.

So what brought this outdoorsy upstate New Yorker to BU? From personal experience, I would say that it was his ambition. Ryan knew that in order to gain the training and experience necessary to be successful in his field, he needed to challenge himself both academically and personally. His favorite thing about being at BU is living in the city of Boston. “Nothing’s better than being in walking distance to downtown Boston,” he says.

This cutie’s idea of a perfect date is making dinner with a girl. “A restaurant is nice,” he says, “but cooking is a great team activity. What comes from the kitchen stove says much more about me that what comes from a menu.” Unfortunately for my readers, this is just how he won over his current girlfriend. I guess you’ll have to wait in line!

We can definitely expect big things from this campus cutie – so keep any eye out!
