Do you (secretly) love introspection, self analysis and coming to grand realizations about yourself and the complexity of your personality and mind?

If your answer is a resounding (but internal) YES, take a well deserved study break with these fascinating personality quizzes that could surprise you in a way you never expected. Happy testing!

1. In a world where more people are aware of psychological concepts and their roles in our lives, knowing your MBTI (Myers Briggs Test Inventory) type is a must. Developed by renowned psychologists Charles Jung and Isabel Briggs Myers, this test asks you a series of questions about your daily activities and preferences before proceeding to give you a 4-letter personality type and a profile that helps summarize your personality type’s nature, skills, strengths, weaknesses. There are versions available in many other languages as well. The test is rather detailed and takes around 20-30 minutes.

2. Have another psychological test! Based on the premise that the world’s diversity of human personalities comes namely from five traits that are abbreviated as OCEAN (Openness to Experience/Conscientiousness/ Extraversion/ Agreeableness/Neuroticism), this will tell you where your personality lies on a spectrum of these traits. ‘The Big Five’ as it’s called, also provides some general observations about your personality and behavior in daily life. This is a short test that takes about 10 minutes.

3. That was a lot of Psychology! Let’s move onto something lighter. (But maybe not as light as those dreaded ‘What Coffee Are You?’ sort of quizzes). Here’s a fun yet challenging fiction test that looks at the decisions you would take in various real and fantasy situations and assigns you a character trope based on them. It’s a long test that not only considers your options but the time you took to answer each question, in order to give you a fine-tuned archetype. Are you a Tragic Hero or the Villain of your own story? Perhaps even….the Damsel in Distress? Go find out for yourself! Though we love it for its subtlety and creative answers, this is a rather lengthy and complex test that could take up to 30 minutes.

4. All right, we admit, the previous test was long….but aren’t the revelations worth it? If you’re not exhausted yet here’s another test, called the 5 Love Languages. Though it requires a short email registration in order to send you a detailed profile with results, the test for the 5 Love Languages (don’t run away the second you see the word ‘love’!) is meant for you, your family, friends or anyone in a significant relationship, be it platonic or romantic. The 5 Love Languages test makes you aware of what expressions of love matter to you the most and teaches you to be sensitive to the differing needs of others, be it a friend, a boyfriend/girlfriend, a sibling or even a pet! It’s a feel-good test and has several off shoots to judge the way you prefer to express anger or receive appreciation and apology. The test can take from fifteen minutes to half an hour.

5. And we’ve come to our last personality test! Based on ‘The Big Five’ quiz we had you take before, the ‘Who Am I’ test is longer, more colorful, filled with engaging graphics and includes strange questions that leave you aboslutely no room to wiggle to a desired outcome. Be warned…though the profile at the end it well worth the time and effort, this test feels infinite at times and is probably not something to use as a study break when you’re pulling an all-nighter. However, if it’s a lazy Sunday afternoon and you’re in the mood for some personal revelations, go for it!

We hope you have fun with these! While it’s important to learn more about yourself, remember that the best way to appreciate your identity and personality involves making these discoveries for yourself in real time and that a computer can only tell you so much. Remember that the screen has no idea of your personal circumstances and don’t come away too bothered if a test tells you something you’re not too happy about hearing. Just enjoy some food for thought.
