7 Reasons to be Friends With a Foodie

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

Whenever you’re with a foodie, you’ll never go hungry. They always know where to eat and you should trust their food opinions. A big part of your relationship with them is based around yummy food. You never want to give up a friend who’s a foodie.

1. They know the best and trendiest restaurants

Don’t know what to eat or tired of eating at the same place? A foodie always knows the new hot spots and food trends to try.

2. They get you out of your comfort zone

You have your good ole reliable foods that you tend to eat a lot, but a foodie will bring you out of your comfort zone and make you try foods that you wouldn’t try by yourself. They will probably help you find a new favorite!

3. They give good restaurant suggestions

With your SO or another friend and don’t where to eat? Text a foodie, they’ll give you plenty of good suggestions because they’ve been to all the local eateries. They’ll also tell you which places don’t live up to the hype.

4. They are always down to pig out

Craving everything and anything junk food? A foodie will be your faithful junk food companion. They’ll show up to your place with plenty of chips and ice cream to satisfy you both.

5. When you guys go out to eat, you’ll always get dessert

You both might be full after a delicious dinner, but a foodie is always up for dessert and you’re more than happy to join. You might as well go ahead and peek at the dessert menu.

6. They know the best grocery store items

Looking to up your grocery game? Ask a foodie what their favorite things to get at the grocery store are. They will probably have favorites from different stores, but whatever they suggest is probably life changing.

7. They will get you to love food that you used to hate

Everyone has certain tastes and hates certain foods. There are always mixed opinions when it comes to food items like sushi, avocado and Brussel sprouts. Chances are the foodie you’ve befriended knows a delicious way to eat them all and will change your opinion.

Your foodie friend makes you appreciate food in all forms and always knows how to wake your taste buds with delicious treats. If you’re not already friends with a foodie, befriend one quick cause you’re missing out.
