How did you get involved in Glamour Gals? What do you like about it?

I found Glamour Gals while scrolling through AnchorLink first semester freshman year. After my first time volunteering, I knew that it was an organization that I wanted to get more involved in. I love seeing the smiles that we bring to the women every Friday and the relationships that we build with them through the time we spend talking while painting their nails. It is really rewarding to see how much they look forward to us coming each week.

Classics is a pretty uncommon major. How did you choose it?

I started taking Latin when I was in sixth grade and became obsessed with both the language and the history surrounding it. I love ancient history, specifically relating to Rome, and will take any opportunity that I can in order to learn more about it. I first heard of the Classics major when I was in early high school, and finding a school that had that program became a major focus in my college search. Through majoring in Classics, I have been able to learn more about what I love while also figuring out what I might want to do once I graduate.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Nashville?

I love going to concerts throughout Nashville. There is always somewhere to hear really good live music on any night of the week, which is something that makes going to school here really fun.

What advice do you have for freshmen?

As clichéd as it sounds, really try to get involved in organizations that interest you, since that is a really great way to meet people with similar interests. Don’t just turn down an opportunity because you feel as though it will take too much effort. This is definitely something that I wish I had done more of my freshman year.
