Which Train-Wreck Bachelor Season Are You?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

Since Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor in 2017, there has not been a single season of the show that has finished the way it was supposed to– that is, with The Bachelor engaged at the end of the “journey” to the woman who was never sent home, with her ultimately receiving the final rose. So, between Arie Luyendyk, Colton Underwood, Peter Weber, and Clayton Echard, which trainwreck season of The Bachelor are you? Warning: spoilers ahead.

Are you the kind of person who frequently second guesses your decisions? If so, you’d most likely relate to Season 22 bachelor Arie Luyendyk. After picking Becca Kufrin for the final rose and proposing to her with the classic bachelor Neil Lane engagement ring, Arie thought it over and decided he made a mistake. Not only was Becca not right for him, Arie concluded that he instead wanted to marry the runner-up, Lauren Burnham, who he had previously sent home (slight change of mind). If you’re not a confident decision maker, this fiance flip-flopping was possibly relatable– the rest of us, however, were screaming through the screen at Arie for not contemplating his final pick a bit longer. A pros and cons list possibly would have helped. If it makes you feel better, however, Arie and Lauren are still together, so keep on second guessing maybe.

Are you the kind of person who can’t get over your ex? If so, you have some similarities with season 23’s bachelor Colton Underwood and season 26’s Clayton Echard. Both bachelors decided that they preferred girls who had voluntarily left the show to the remaining contestants, in a “the one who got away” type trope. If you’re like them, you want what you can’t have– if you’re The Bachelor, though, you can attempt to fix this heartbreak with some grand gestures, threatening to quit the show and of course turning it into the “most dramatic season ever.” Just because you can’t get over your ex doesn’t always mean they’re your soulmate, though, as Colton can vouch for the fact that him and Cassie are very much not still together.

If you have severe commitment issues and are just overall messy in relationships, you’re probably Peter Weber, who ended up with practically every single girl from his season at some point before finally just ending up single. Peter proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss, then broke off the engagement to shortly date runner-up Madison Prewett instead, and then when Prewett and him broke up, he dated contestant Kelley Flanagan. They also broke up. Peter is not the most liked in Bachelor Nation after jumping from girl to girl but bad publicity is publicity nonetheless. Embrace the messiness.
