Newest Nail Craze: Magnetic Nail Polish

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tennessee chapter.

It seems to me that fingernails have become the new favorite accessory around college campuses. From cheetah print to neon solid colors, fingernail polish is the new ‘it’ factor. Nails Inc. a store based out of Los Angeles, Calif. has come up with something very extraordinary when compared to the ordinary polishes seen out recently: Magnetic Nail Polish.

You paint the color of your choice on your nails then take the top of the polish, which has the magnet placed on it, and swipe a design onto your nails. Quick and relatively easy, this polish is sure to make you top Nail Queen of the campus.

This Magnet Nail Polish is made using metallic particles that allow you to create wild 3-D nail art. Sephora.com advises that the proper way to apply this polish is to apply a base coat, apply the polish, and then immediately hold the magnet cap over the nail till you have the affect you desire. Your nails will generally have a rippled affect which can vary depending on how long you hold the magnet to your nail.

Erika Johnson, a pre-med student, 20, says the polish “is definitely something I am going to try”.

This Magnetized Polish can be found at Sephora in West Towne Mall for $16
