An open letter to my dog

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

Dear Pringles,

We are coming up on our one-year anniversary very soon and I wanted to take this time to tell you how much you have changed my life in our short twelve months together. You are the first dog my family has ever had and you brought us together in a way we never thought imaginable.

I remember the day my mom sent a photo of you to me, introducing you as my new little sister. I was so excited that all I could was run around my room and jump for joy, while my friends laughed. I came home for spring break to get my wisdom teeth removed and you could sense I was in pain. You would come over and curl up next to me, never once leaving my side. After that, we were inseparable and we still are.

When I’m home from school, you nudge my door open with you paw and scratch at the bottom of my bed until I pick you up so that you can snuggle. I get to spoil you rotten with toys and goodies and hold you during thunderstorms. You’re never afraid to give me “the look” when I’m singing too loud and you’re always down to watch the Jonas Brothers movie.

I am so happy you are a part of our little family. You make us all so happy. I can’t wait to come home to you in May for our annual summer snuggle fest.

Missing you always,

Your owner/boss
