My Study Abroad Trip to Italy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

Over this last summer, I spent a month and a half traveling around Italy and experiencing everything it had to offer. While I learned so much and ate even more, there were a few things that I felt most important to share if you ever find yourself in Italy.

1. Travel around the country as much as you can!

Each week I tried to go somewhere new and found that everywhere I went was entirely different from the last. Coastlines, cities, and mountain views, each place I visited offered something entirely beautiful and eye-opening.

2. Eat and drink as much as you can!

By the time I left, I was almost positive that my body had become 90% pasta and wine, which I did not regret one bit. Every meal I had there was its own special experience, the Italians really know how to make an irresistible meal. Whether it was wine from a close by vineyard, homemade pasta or pesto, or a panini off a corner street store, everything there was unforgettable.

3. Take as many pictures as you can!

Since being home, I find myself going and looking back at the photos from my experience all the time. While I was there, it felt like I was overbearing everyone by taking so many pictures all the time, but now I am glad that I will be able to keep the memories with me forever. Overall, this trip truly was the experience of a lifetime and I recommend that if you go to Italy or any other country to study that you use these tips!
