Enjoying Your Life

Being only 19, there is so much to life that I have yet to discover. However, I have experienced a lot within these years—lessons and events that have helped me to grow into the individual I am today. I have learned that to truly enjoy life and to make the most of it, it is important to find a balance in everything you do.

Time Management

Time management is key to finding balance in your life. Prioritize what is most important to you. Always dedicate your time to something that will benefit you and will put you two steps forward instead of two steps back. Organize the things you need to do and get them done. I am a lover of lists and I love checking off the things that I need to get done. It can get pretty crazy at first, but finding the right way to approach your tasks in life will take away any unnecessary stresses. It will put you at ease and will keep you in track. This will also help you when life throws those unexpected curveballs. You will be able to find methods to deal with situations within the time you have available to you. Time management enables you to balance all aspects of life once you find a way that works for you.

Time for Yourself & Others

Although your life may be busy with work, school, or even sports, always make time for friends and family. It’s a needed time to bond and find out what is going on in each others’ lives. Spending this time is also relaxing and gives your body a break from the hustle and bustle of your routine schedule. It allows you to sit back for a moment to stop and smell the roses.

Take time to spoil yourself! Treat yourself with a shopping spree, or take a bath to unwind. Sometimes we get so occupied with others or our tasks that we neglect to dedicate time for ourselves. Remind and refresh yourself with things that you enjoy doing. Taking the time to get to know yourself is important as you are growing up. Your likes and dislikes change all the time, as well as your personality and your preferences towards certain things. Personal time allows you to find yourself and find a potential meaning in your life and towards your aspirations. It creates a positive outlook and opens your mind to accept new thoughts and ideas.

Try New Things

Don’t be scared to step out of your comfort zone! You only live once, why not make the most of it? Utilize your free time to go out, try new foods or new hobbies. You never know until you try! You may end up acquiring new hobbies that you never knew you’d enjoy. I love to travel and to explore new countries and cities. It’s important to explore new cultures and areas to widen your knowledge of the world. It is a big world out there and there is so much to discover. Take advantage of doors that open for you and rare opportunities that come. You never know who you will meet on your journey and where it can take you.

Putting Your Best Foot Forward

We are human. We all experience good and bad days. Never let these bad days ruin your life. We all make mistakes, and we all have situations to deal with. The way we handle problems can determine how we deal with other events in life. Move on from the negative and brush it off your shoulder. Don’t let bad events discourage you from reaching your fullest potential. Never let others discourage you from the goals you set in life. Put your best foot forward and always work hard for what you want to achieve. Of course, this all sounds cliché, but it is an important aspect to remember. I’ve seen the results of hard work and they are worth it. It’s worth the late nights and the frustrations. Those who work hard at what they want will ultimately reach their goal. No matter the challenge faced and the bumps in the road, you will always overcome them and succeed.

Balancing all these details and more is essential to living with a better mindset, and essentially, enjoying life!
