5 Things to Practice as a College Student

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.
  1. Free writing. Whether you’re a writer or an artist, practice your craft each and every day! It’s a way to build your skill but also to easily brainstorm. If you create a new idea every day (even if you scribble the most random article idea down) you’d be surprised by how great it could be further on in the future.
  2. Yoga, meditation. These two have so many health benefits. You’ll breathe, sleep, and think better by practicing throughout the day.
  3. Drinking water regularly. Stay hydrated! Your skin (and rest of your body) will thank you.
  4. Good posture.  Know that great posture shows confidence, and you should never walk into a room (or onto a stage) slouching. Think about all the typing you all day, you may not notice it, but your shoulders shift forward due to all the stress. Remind yourself you sit up straight when you stretch after typing out those deadly research papers.
  5. Small talk & networking. You’re an up and coming professional. You should always have an elevator pitch about who you are and what you’re working towards. Remember that you’re as powerful as the people you know, so if you’re vocal about what you want from life people are more likely to remember and put you onto opportunities they find out about.

That is all, thanks for reading! :)
