I watch the sun peak over the horizon,
And whisper my dreams into the air
As if I can speak them into existence.
I am but a sliver of nobody,
Yet I can feel my soul inside of my bones
Aching to achieve great heights.
I’ve always said that my town isn’t enough for me,
I need more like I need air.
Maybe if I work hard enough, they’ll understand.
I remember that tomorrow the sun will rise,
Slightly different but still the same,
As will I.
