My Christmas Wish List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Christmas is approaching, which means it’s time to listen to “All I Want for Christmas is You” on repeat until December 26th. Figuring out what you want for Christmas seems to get harder every year, how is it that I want everything year-round but when it comes to Christmas, I’m clueless? This year these are my ‘musts’ on my Christmas wish list this year!

1.) Weighted Blanket

Weighted blankets are super underrated and strange, but they seem to have some good use. Weighted blankets are supposed to prevent anxiety and stress, they’re anywhere between 4-30 pounds of just pure blanket. The weight of the blanket depends on your body weight, so if you’re small, I wouldn’t recommend getting a 30 pound blanket. People say the blanket feels like a long warm hug, who doesn’t need that every once in a while? They’re supposed to put you in a deep sleep because the weight prevents body movement, and these blankets range anywhere from $100-$200.

2.) Love Your Melon Beanies

Beanies with a cute little pom on the top are perfect for upcoming winter weather, and the brand Love Your Melon have the most adorable beanies for reasonable prices. They range in beautiful colors such as navy blue, light pink, cream, grey, and mixed colors such as pink with a hint of purple. And to top it all off, the Love Your Melon company donates 50% of their proceeds to pediatric cancer research. Definitely check these beanies out on their website, they tend to be $30-$45.

3.) 35T Morphe Eyeshadow Palette

If you’re not a makeup junkie, this item may not be for you, but hey we all gotta experiment with makeup at some point! The 35T Morphe palette is everything you could ask for, it has 35 shades of browns, pinks, plum, gold, and the most dreamy shimmer shades. Morphe products are reasonably priced, with this palette only being $23, which is an absolute steal.

4.) Himalayan Salt Rock Lamp

The Himalayan salt rock lamp is a lamp that gives off a soft orange hue, which is supposed to relax you and release stress. Apparently the rock salt balances molecules in the air and it’s supposed to have mental and physical benefits, but I’m not too positive on how true that is. I currently have one in my dorm room, and I absolutely love it. I love having it on when all my lights are off, it gives off the most relaxing and calming atmosphere. I bought mine at Walmart for less than $20, and I use it everyday. It’s definitely a must on the Christmas list for those who don’t have one yet.

5.) Wireless Beat Headphones

Okay I’m a bit late to the Beats by dre headphone trend, but the basic apple headphones just don’t do it for me anymore. Also for those who go to the gym, I’m sure we can all agree how annoying it is to have to carry your phone everywhere within a certain distance because your headphones are connected to your headphone jack. I’m running out of spots in my pants to awkwardly stick my phone. I definitely need wireless headphones this year for Christmas, and I weirdly love the big headphone version of Beats, preferably a rose gold… hmm, we’ll see what Santa decides!

There’s a ton more items on my list, such as Patagonia items, an MK jacket, and the list could go on for days. I hope this list gets your mind thinking of all the goodies you forgot you wanted this year, because I know how tough it is to think of things you want. Happy holidays, and more importantly, happy shopping!
