Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

With Valentine’s day right around the corner, many of us may still be scrambling for some last-minute gifts. As someone who struggles to find just the right gift, I’m always worried when it comes to holidays like these. When I’m looking for a gift, it needs to be one of four things: useful, personalized, unique or something that we can enjoy together. With those criterias in mind, I have compiled a list of some of my favorite go-to gifts to help you out.

  1. One of the most classic Valentine’s Day gifts is chocolates, and this one has a special Kansas City twist. With only two locations nationwide, this is a must! They have the most unique flavors including lavender, Aztec spice, Irish coffee, chia caramel and so many more. The designs are breathtaking; you’ll never be able to forget them. There are so many flavors to choose from, and each one is an experience on its own. I can’t help myself from coming back time and time again!

  2. There are hundreds of these types of books online, but I have linked one of my favorite ones. Many of them are a way to document you and your partner’s adventures and date nights together, but this one specifically also gives you date night ideas. Inside are 50 dates that range in price up to $50. Each date in this book is hidden, so all you get to see is the estimated cost of the date and the time it will take. Once you’ve found one that fits your criteria, you get to scratch off the box and the date idea is revealed! This book is a gift that keeps on giving, since you now have so many more new date night plans!

  3. I have a special place in my heart for gifts that allow you to grow closer to your partner. I’m a big fan of this card game because it’s perfect for new couples or couples who have been together for years. Once again, I have linked one of my favorite ones. It contains 150 different questions that can help you learn more about your partner, as well as share memories and future plans. Each card contains five categories: family, intimacy, couple, individual and past & future. With so many options, you can replay these cards again and again.

  4. I previously mentioned that one of my criteria for gift giving is that it needs to be useful, and this is the perfect example. No matter who is receiving this gift, they are almost guaranteed to get years and years of use out of it. They also come in many different shapes and sizes, so you’ll be able to pick out just the right one for your partner. They’re perfect for keeping hot drinks hot, and cold drinks cold. Plus, they’re dishwasher safe.

  5. I know that you may be thinking that this is a pretty lame gift, but hear me out! Silk pillowcases have benefits for both your skin and hair! Dermatologists say that silk pillowcases can help prevent wrinkles, frizzy hair, acne and split ends. Additionally, I’ve found that my pillows stay at a much cooler temperature, helping me get a good night’s rest. Trust me, if you try them out once, there’s no going back!

I hope that this list helped you or at least sparked some ideas for possible gifts for your partner. At the end of the day, the gift or its price does not matter; it’s always the thought that goes into it. I hope that during this crazy pandemic, you and your partner find time to celebrate your relationship and (safely) enjoy each other’s company.
