Saving People. Hunting Things. The Family Business. This mantra has been an anthem for so many fans all around the world ever since the show, Supernatural, made its debut in 2006. On March 20, 2018, it’s clear that it continues to play a big role in people’s lives as fans gathered at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood to get the latest scoop about the current 13th season of the show. At the 35th PaleyFest event, the cast, producers and writers took the stage and discussed how a show about two brothers killing monsters and saving the world has changed the lives of so many.

Before the group began the panel, there was a world premiere of a screening that fans didn’t know they needed: a Supernatural-Scooby Doo crossover. In this adventure-packed episode, Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and the angel Castiel (Misha Collins) accidentally purchase a magical television and are zapped into an alternate universe, where they become animated characters in the cartoon, Scooby-Doo.

After the “ScoobyNatural” episode, that’s when the fans became really excited as Entertainment Weekly’s Samantha Highfill brought the cast and executive producers Robert Singer, Andrew Daab, Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Bucker onstage. The rest of the night consisted of the cast and creators poking fun at each other, Jensen Ackles reminiscing about getting kicked off set, Misha Collins thumb wrestling an audience member and the new addition to the show, Alexander Calvert (who plays half-angel, half-human Jack Kline), talking about his interesting experience being bare-naked for the first three episodes. The audience became especially excited when Singer hinted at a season 14 renewal, leaving many fans curious as to what crazy adventures the boys will go on next.

However, the event definitely had some heartfelt moments. At the Q&A session following the panel, Ackles shared his amazing experience about being an actor on the show. After thirteen seasons he states, “There are so many reasons that I still truly enjoy doing this show and working with these people has become something that I’ve never anticipated… To be up on this stage talking to you guys after 13 years makes me happy that I’ve found it and these people…” Padalecki added by saying, “This is a story we all care about… I think as much as you guys love Supernatural and Jack and Mish and Sam and Dean, we love Sam and Dean, too. I don’t want to see Sam die and we always see Sam die, so I’m excited to keep that story up,” hinting that he has no interest in leaving the show anytime soon.

Attending this event has been absolutely unforgettable. From making us laugh our heads off to witnessing the brotherhood the actors share both on and off screen, Supernatural is such an incredible television series. This show has been dear to my heart since my freshman year of high school and it will continue to impact my life for so many more years, and hopefully it will for you, too.

Don’t forget to tune in to the “ScoobyNatural episode” today, Thursday, March 29 at 8/7c on the CW! You’re in for a wild ride.
