On November 7, 2020, the media announced that Joe Biden will become our 46th president alongside Kamala Harris as his vice president.

I didn’t even have the chance to fully wake up before I found out on Twitter that Joe Biden had won the election. It was an emotional roller coaster for me that day filled with tears of happiness and excitement bursts.

Donald Trump and many of his supporters, of course, aren’t as happy as the majority of the United States is, and frankly the majority of people on Earth are. Throughout the week of the election, Trump did something that any indecent white man can do, which is to sue for God knows what. There were numerous lawsuits with no evidence filed against swing states claiming “fraud”, but luckily votes kept being counted and Biden’s lead got bigger to where all news sources declared Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election.

This wasn’t the landslide victory that I, and many Americans, were hoping for which is very concerning, but not surprising. Before the election, I was almost sure that Donald Trump would be reelected for a second term, and throughout the year, I was preparing myself for four more years of torture. Though I don’t see it, lots of people do like him, and in fact his approval rating has been at its highest this year. I can’t even imagine what the United States will become when Joe Biden is in office. The over 70 million people who voted for Trump will be upset, and most likely, cause some chaos. Hopefully, nothing too violent.

The Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ticket has achieved so many accomplishments. Joe Biden has gotten the most amount of popular votes in United States history. Dr. Jill Biden will be the first First Lady to have a paid job outside of the White House. Kamala Harris will become the first woman, first Black American, first South Asian American and first biracial vice president of the United States, and her husband, Doug Emhoff, will become the first “second gentlemen”. Even Joe Biden’s dog, Major, has gotten some recognition for being the first rescued dog to be in the White House.

Donald Trump has made some achievements this election, also. One being that he is the first president to lose the popular vote two times, and the other is that he has gotten the most amount of popular votes for a Republican candidate, sadly.

Obviously, this hasn’t been certified yet as lawsuits are still pending and there is about two months left until Trump will be officially out of office and a lot can happen during that time. Electoral votes still need to be certified, and if any fraud is proved, then this election can take a whole 360. As an overthinker myself, I will probably never find my peace until December 14th when all these lawsuits will be shut down and/or resolved.

There isn’t too much to miss about Donald Trump, but there is one thing, and that is Alec Baldwin playing as him in comedic political skits from Saturday Night Live. SNL has given me so much joy and laughter, and I would like to thank Trump personally for introducing me to them. I’m going to be honest, SNL’s political skits probably won’t be as great and funny when Biden is in office because as bad as a president Donald Trump is, he is pure comedy gold.

This article is obviously entitled to my own opinion. I don’t despise all Republicans, and in fact, I would love to chat and hang out with one in order to open my own perspectives to see what they like about Donald Trump and his policies.

The Republicans didn’t lose as much as people may have hoped for. The Republicans have flipped at least 5 seats in the House, and they haven’t lost their Republican majority in the Senate yet. We will have to wait for the special election in Georgia until we know who has gained majority in the Senate, or it can become a tie in which Kamala Harris will be the tie breaker. So, not all of us came out as total winners or losers this election.

Congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for winning the presidential election!

Finally, decency, respect and good character will return to the White House, and I am ready to see the day when Donald Trump will be kicking and screaming like a baby while being escorted out of the White House.
