Meet Addison: HC UDel’s Campus Correspondent

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Delaware chapter.

I had the pleasure of interviewing our chapter’s newest Campus Correspondent, Addison! Addison is a Junior transfer student who previously studied at Wilmington University. She is excited to be reinstated as co-Campus Correspondent alongside our other Campus Correspondent, Kaylee

HC: Why did you get involved in Her Campus here at UD?

AR: Her Campus is a great way to get involved in campus life. We are able to keep an eye out for new and exciting things happening on campus, controversial or not, that we can talk about and have a voice for. Also, having an outlet like this in such a crazy part of your life is an actual life-saver. Without this, all of my nerves and emotions would be bottled up. It’s an amazing way to let loose and put your thoughts online for other girls and guys to relate to.

HC: What is your favorite topic to write about?

AR: This is a tough question because I have a couple of favorite topics to write about. However, relationships is probably my top choice. I have a lot of experience with relationships since I have been in one for four years now. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs and like to share them for other girls to know that they’re not alone or can have someone to relate to. I like to think I can offer advice to those who are just now going through something that they don’t quite know how to deal with or if they’re just curious and want to be prepared.

HC: What do you want to do in the future career wise?

AR: Well, again, that’s another tough question. I actually just switched my major so you could say that I am still trying to figure out my life. However, I am currently studying Psychology and working on becoming an exercise science minor to one day become a Sports Psychologist. Ideally, I would love to be a Psychiatrist, however, I’m not sure if medical school is for me.

HC: What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

AR: In my free time, I like to snuggle up and listen to Taylor Swift. Free time is not an actual thing in my schedule right now. So, when I get it, I like to take care of myself, catch up on Grey’s Anatomy and jam out to Taylor Swift. For anyone that doesn’t know me, I am obsessed with TSwizzle.

HC: What are your goals for this semester as CC?

AR: My goals for this semester, along with Kaylee’s, is to become a registered RSO. We are still working out the kinks, but hopefully it works out. We also want to have some bigger and better events such as a mixer or auction. We have big plans for this semester and I can’t begin to express our excitement.

HC: What is the best part about being involved with Her Campus?

AR: The best part about being involved with Her Campus is definitely being able to read all of our member’s articles. A lot of people don’t have the opportunity to tap into so many viewpoints and thoughts of students on campus. Being able to read them really gives you perspective on different situations and the feeling that you’re not alone in some of them.

Addison Reich is a lively, fun and energetic girl of 21 years old. She is a Junior Psychology major with a Minor in Health & Wellness at the University of Delaware. Ad started as Udel's junior editor, but has since worked her way to becoming their Co-CC! Addison loves to write articles about personal experience and opinion. She transferred from a different university in the fall of her sophomore year, leaving behind a volleyball scholarship, but not her passion for sports, as she is working on becoming a sports psychologist. She also loves hunting, singing and Taylor Swift. If you notice, it's her token to add a picture of Swift in every header of her articles. Keep on the lookout for the next one!
Kaylee is the former President and Editor in Chief for Her Campus at the University of Delaware. She held this title from 2017-2020 and wrote for Penn State's chapter as a contributor prior to this.
