Girly Bosses: Pay it Forward

Growing up, I always wanted to be somebody. I didn’t quite know what that meant, but I never wanted to live an ordinary lifestyle. A flare for the dramatics might be the biggest attribute to that, however I firmly believe most people aspire to greatness. In college I have seen more talent than I thought imaginable. I have also seen a lot of girls fall short of their aspirations because someone told them “you can not do that.” The worst part is, negative comments mostly come from your peers, teachers, parents or significant other.

I would like to inform you all that you can do that. YOU can do whatever your heart desires. Now, with that being said, I wanted to be Britney Spears when I grew up. Obviously that dream of mine won’t happen. But maybe some encouragement from a vocal coach could have gone a long way. Do you see where I am going with this?

ENCOURAGEMENT.

This is an article calling all my girly bosses out there who are chasing their dreams and not giving a f*$% who tells them no.

Most girls get jealous (don’t lie, you do too) and when their friend does something amazing, it kinda sucks that it’s not happening to you too. Yes, of course you are happy, but you can’t help but envy them. However, the jolly green jealousy giant can’t become a thing to tear your friends down. Instead, be genuinely happy for them and throw them a party for their achievements. BUT, go and chase your own dreams so that you can also be an elusive girly-pop boss. Be proud of yourself and your accomplishments. Spreading optimism among women is the greatest thing you can possibly do. Paying it forward is a concept that we all have heard, but rarely we put into action. A simple text “Hey congrats on that internship,” or “You rocked that speech today,” might just be the encouragement your friends need! So next time you see someone doing their GirLy PoP Bo$$ thing, TELL THEM. Pay it forward in the simplest way, with genuine positivity.
