Spring break is just right around the corner! Spring break is your week to relax and rewind before the rest of the semester starts flying by. If you’re still searching for places to go, you have come to the right place. These are my top five spring break destinations that I’ve been to and why you should visit them too!
- Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Yes, I am starting off with a hotspot that basically everyone visits during spring break, but I have to say I do love Florida, especially Ft. Lauderdale. It is affordable which is convenient for college students wanting to get away for spring break. I see a lot of people go to Miami but if you want a little less of a crowd, then I think Ft. Lauderdale is a perfect getaway. You have a ton of great places to eat and clean beaches to visit along the strip. Plus, if you really want to go to Miami, it’s about a 35-minute drive. If you want to have a fun night, Ft. Lauderdale is perfect because most of the places are open super late, if not all night! Bonus tip: make sure you bring cash with you because some local restaurants do not accept credit cards.
- Cancun, Mexico
Yet another hot spot for spring break, but Cancun is another great tropical place to visit when you need to get away from the cold weather and have fun. There are beautiful beaches and pools to go swimming (or party) everyday, great music, all-inclusive hotels, and an endless number of activities. If you like being on the go every day and finding new things to do during your spring break, then this is a perfect destination for you.
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Punta Cana was one of my favorite tropical places to visit. When I visited, I remember the clear and warm ocean waters that were so relaxing and fun to swim in. The beach also offers fun water activities like banana boating, parasailing, jet skiing, and many more. The best part is that it is super affordable for college students to visit during spring break if they want to go somewhere international.
- London, England
London was my most recent excursion and another one of my favorites. If you want to visit a more touristy spot for spring break and are not about laying on the beach all day, then this is a great option for you. There are many historical and beautiful sites to see while visiting London like Big Ben, London Eye, Kensington Palace, and so much more where you can learn about the history. London has a vast amount of food options to choose from and during springtime, temperatures start to get warmer and you can witness the city parks start to bloom. There is always something interesting happening in London that appeals to everyone. I would also recommend bringing your Visa and/ or Mastercard because a lot of places do not accept Amex or Discover.
- Dublin, Ireland
Last but certainly not least, we have Ireland. This was my first-time visiting Europe in general. I put this on the list because this is another great spring break destination option if you don’t prefer the beach scene and rather explore tourist cities. The weather starts to warm up and the flowers start to bloom but remains at cool temperatures. There are many beautiful sites to visit like Wicklow Mountains (which is right outside of Dublin), endless amounts of pubs that have the best atmosphere, and Blarney Castle (make sure you kiss it upside down!). These are just a few places you should definitely check out but do some research on other attractions to check out. I would highly suggest a sturdy umbrella or a raincoat while travelling there!
If you are able to travel during spring break, consider these places! But most importantly, go have fun, relax, and make sure to stay safe!
