For this week’s profile, I got the opportunity to interview someone who has impacted my first few weeks of college. For the past month at Sonoma, she has always been there for me. Weather I needed to talk about my problems or just gush over some of the cute guys we see by our suite, she will always listen to what anyone has to say without judging them. Introducing one of my suitemates, Keira Coleman.
Her Campus: Alright! What is your name? Well, I know your name obviously… Keira Coleman.
Keira Coleman: Keira Ann Coleman!
HC: And you are a freshman here at Sonoma.
KC: Correct.
HC: Where are you from?
KC: I am from Santa Rosa California.
HC: And what is your major?
KC: I am a psychology major.
HC: How do you feel about Sonoma so far? Do you like it here or how do you feel?
KC: I’ve been really excited about [Sonoma]. It wasn’t my choice to go to this school, it was my parent’s choice. I was kind of annoyed with the fact that they forced me to go here and I wasn’t super excited. But now that I am here and I am in the school life and have suitemates, I am actually really excited to be here.
HC: How have you been involved around campus? Do you participate in clubs, sororities, etc?
KC: I am in a sorority and I am looking into joining the club soccer team here on campus.
HC: What sorority are you in?
KC: ΑΟΠ, Alpha Omicron Pi. The girls are great and I love it so far.
HC: That is great! What do you want to be doing in ten years?
KC: You know, that’s still a mystery to me. I originally wanted to become a nurse, but now I am in the psych program [at Sonoma]. We will see what open doors there are for me in the future. Maybe I will be a child psychologist, but I am not really sure. Maybe I will end up being a psych nurse, I guess we’ll see.
HC: Alright. Last question, who is somebody in your life that has influenced you.
KC: My mom. Definitely my mom. She grew up in not a great neighborhood in Southern California. She worked her way and paid her way through junior college to become a successful nurse and now has two great kids and a loving husband… And I am obviously one of those kids, clearly.
