Here is some motivation for this week and any week ya need!
1. “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” – Charles R. Swindoll
As college students, we are all juggling a lot. Between our classes, assignments, jobs, internships, and maintaining a decent schedule… we all have a full plate. When tensions get high and our patience thins, this mindset will save us. Keep pursuing your goals, and don’t let anything stop you from carrying on. You can’t control what happens to you, only how you react to it. After all, a positive mindset leads to success.
2. “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.” – Will Rogers
Stop dwelling on yesterday and focus on today. It’s a fresh start, and a new opportunity to do good in the world. Focus on your goals, and power through the day with a positive mindset. Learn from yesterday’s happenings and apply those lessons to your doings today. Surround yourself with people who value and cherish your time, do what makes you happy, and always think good thoughts. Do not let negativity from the past get in your way today.
3. “Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” – O.G. Mandino
Failure is a main part of life, do not let it discourage you. Every person fails at least once in their life… usually a lot. But perspective is everything! Look at failure as an opportunity for you to learn and improve. See the constructive criticism in failure, highlighting the areas you need to work on in order to achieve your goals. No masterpiece, athlete, or perfect grade were created overnight. The only way to move is forward, so shake it off and keep pursuing to do better.
4. “We generate fears while we sit. We overcome them by action.” – Dr. Henry Link
The more time you spend procrastinating a task, the more time you have to think about it. This soon spirals into an endless circle of sitting around and thinking, rather than doing. Overthinking leads to hesitation, and often fears. In order to overcome these fears and hesitations, you must rise to action! Get out of bed, or wherever you are, and act on your thoughts! Get that task out of the way so you can enjoy the rest of your day while it lasts. Never allow yourself to sulk around in fear – get up, work hard, and keep moving forward.
5. “Make each day your masterpiece.” – John Wooden
Every day is a new beginning; an opportunity to see the good and to do good. Wake up each day with a grateful heart and set goals for yourself. What do you want to accomplish today? Face your challenges with the confidence that you will succeed, walk away from any negativity thrown at you, and do what makes you genuinely happy. Remember, every good day begins with a positive mindset and good intentions – so let today be your work of art!
You got this!
